The Pony Club is an international voluntary youth organisation for young people interested in ponies and riding. It has been the starting point for a large majority of equestrian team members and medal winners.
The Pony Club is represented in no less than 27 countries with a worldwide membership exceeding 110,000 making it the largest association of young riders in the world.

 

Objectives

The objectives of The Pony Club are:

• To encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding.

• To give instruction in riding and horsemastership and to educate Members to look after and to take proper care of their animal.

• To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty to create strength of character and self-discipline.

Membership Benefits

Being a Pony Club Member brings some fantastic opportunities:

• Having Fun – There are always lots of great things to do, with social events and activities, you will meet lots of new friends!

• Sports – You can take part in NINE different Pony Club sports!

• Competitions – You can enter competitions near your home and at Area Level. You also have the opportunity to qualify for the National Championships, the Spring Festival and the National Quiz.


• Learning and Training – You can work towards Achievement Badges, Mini Badges and take The Pony Club’s internationally-recognised Tests

• Insurance – Membership automatically provides you with personal liability insurance. Members are covered every day for a full year, up to £30m.


• Help by Volunteering – Make your Branch or Centre even better by offering to help. It is a great way to build personal development skills for the future!

 

Pony Club Membership is £37/year and is paid directly to Pony Club. Membership is open at any young person under the age of 25.

Our Pony Club Groups run on a Saturday morning and Sunday at different levels.  Each group has a ride session followed by a stable management session.

PONY CLUB HELPERS

 

On successful completion of your Pony Club D test, you will be invited to become a Pony Club helper - provided you are 10 years old.

Join us on the yard on Sundays from 9am - 4pm to work around the yard.  Pony Club members should wear their Pony Club uniform and must continue to show commitment to learning and working towards further tests.  Continuing with Stable Management sessions will allow member to grow and develop, as well as ensure they remain safe at all times while working on a busy yard.
